SUMMER SCHOOL

As part of this project, volunteers will have the opportunity to provide academic support to primary and middle school students. The classes will be taught according to a predetermined curriculum. Each class will be led by one national volunteer and one international volunteer, facilitating effective communication with the students, particularly those who may struggle with accents.

Program objectives:

• Provide academic support to children by assisting them with preparing for the next school year.

• Conduct non-formal educational activities to enhance creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.

• Create a safe and supportive space where children can learn, grow, and express themselves freely.

Program activities:

• Educational Enrichment: Volunteers will organize interactive sessions to explain school topics in a simplified manner, allowing children to deepen their knowledge and understanding.

• Non-Formal Activities: Volunteers will conduct non-formal educational activities such as arts and crafts, storytelling, sports, and music, providing children with opportunities for creative expression and skill development.

• Cultural Exchange: Volunteers will share their own cultural traditions, languages, and experiences with the children, promoting cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.

Program logistics:

• Location: Rural areas of Togo

• Duration: 2 to 3 weeks, anytime between the last week of July and the first week of September

• Schedule: Volunteers will dedicate 4 hours each morning, Monday through Friday, to teaching.

• Accommodation: Volunteers will be provided with safe and comfortable accommodation in the local community.

• Meals: Meals are provided as part of the program.

• Project transportation: Airport pickup and drop off, and the transportation to and back from the village of the project is provided as part of the program.

• Support: Local coordinators will provide orientation, guidance, and support throughout the program.
